An explosion against the Palestinian Prime Minister Ramirez Hamdala while he was crossing the Gaza Strip, giving rise to suspicions of assassination, the Associated Press reported.

The prime minister is not injured, but the Palestinian Authority hastened to accuse Gaza extremists of trying to kill him, AP notes.

The cause of the blast is not yet established.

Palestinian Intelligence Chief Majz Faradz, who was in the corps, is also unharmed, a source told by France's security forces, a member of the delegation. Seven people have been injured. Three of the cars in the convoy have broken windows, one of the doors of one of them has traces of blood, television shows from the venue.

Hamas condemned the Gaza explosion targeting the visiting Palestinian PM's corps, the Associated Press reported. In its official statement, Hamas's Islamist movement, which controls the Gaza Strip, called the blast "crime" and "attempt to hurt efforts to achieve Palestinian unity and reconciliation," promising an "urgent investigation."
