BEIRUT, Jan. 18 (Xinhua) -- Lebanese House Speaker Nabih Berri said on Monday that Lebanon is under "unannounced sanctions and siege" due to its commitment to its national interests and its wealth in land and sea, the National News Agency reported.
Berri's remarks came, in a speech delivered through video, at the International Parliamentary Conference in Support of the Palestinian Intifada, hosted by the Iranian capital Tehran.
Berri indicated that Lebanon is suffering from a multi-level crisis that is the most dangerous in its modern history, not to mention an undeclared blockade due to its support and commitment to the resistance and its sovereignty rights.
Berri renewed Lebanon's commitment to its sovereign rights over its land, borders, and wealth resources.
Moreover, the speaker warned about the "deterioration of the health situation in the Gaza Strip due to the spread of the coronavirus under unjust blockade" and called on the international community to secure vaccines for Gaza.
