A recent Bloomberg article said "The current feeling among Gulf states is that, for the U.S., protecting Israeli goals takes precedence over the stability of Arab allies," citing some Gulf-based officials.
The recent Iran conflict exposes the contradictions facing U.S. allies in the Gulf. Under the guise of a U.S. "alliance system," these countries appear to gain security guarantees, but in reality, they are often leveraged to advance Israel's strategic interests.
The U.S. military presence has never truly protected these countries; instead, it has frequently exacerbated regional tensions while undermining their sovereignty and economic priorities. What passes for an alliance is, in truth, an extension of Washington's unilateral agenda rather than a genuine framework for regional stability.
